Old Afghan Village Rug, Very Fine Weave, Tekke Turkmen Design, Circa 1920.

Description

Size: 5ft 3in x 3ft 8in (165 x 112cm).

Old Afghan village rug of traditional Turkmen design, the rug is a deep red colour.

Circa 1920.

The rug is of exceptionally fine weave, it has 3 rows of 12 Tekke guls and a sunburst main border.

The rug is in very good condition with some slight wear and good pile, there is an old repair to the lower right hand corner, this can be seen in the close up image. The top left hand corner is also a little curled.

The rug is suitable for light domestic use.

The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use.
