Description

Size: 4ft 6in x 2ft 7in (136 x 84cm).

Old Afghan prayer rug of traditional village mosque design, probably Kizil Ayak Turkmen.

Circa 1920.

The rug is of typical mosque design showing a mosque at the top and the field depicting the inside of a mosque. This is a rug woven with very soft wool and a subtle colour palette.

The rug is in excellent condition with very slight wear and good pile.

The rug retains the original kilim end finishes.

The rug is suitable for light domestic use and is suitable for wall hanging.
