Size: 11ft 10in x 8ft 3in (360 x 252cm).

A very good traditional Afghan village carpet by Ersari Turkmen weavers.

Circa 1920.

The carpet has three rows of six large guls, the border design is very detailed, the design in the large guls indicates the village and family group who wove the carpet. The carpet has a very rustic feel due to the colour change across the width of the carpet at the far end, this is due to changes in dye lots (not fading). The carpet retains the original kilim end finishes at both ends.

The carpet is in excellent condition with very slight even wear and good pile.

The carpet is suitable for heavy domestic use.

The carpet has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
