Size: 10ft 9in x 8ft 2in (327 x 249cm).
A good Afghan village carpet by Ersari weavers of the Sulayman design.
Circa 1920.
The carpet has three rows of seven large guls, on a very warm red ground. The design in the guls is typical of the Sulayman Ersari from the Andkhoy region of Northern Afghanistan. The carpet has a classic Afghan design to the border with some very pleasing colours including a blue/green and some small yellow highlights.
The carpet is in good condition with slight even wear and good pile.
The carpet is suitable for normal domestic use.
The carpet has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
