An outstanding Afghan village carpet by Ersari weavers of the Sulayman design.
Circa 1900.
The carpet has three rows of eight large guls, on a very soft copper red ground.
The carpet is quite unusual in that it bears an inscription and date, the date is 1321 which converts to 1903.

The carpet is in excellent condition with very slight even wear and full pile. The carpet retains the original short kilim end finishes at both ends. This is an Afghan carpet of the highest order.
The carpet is suitable for normal domestic use.
The carpet has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
