Description

This is a very attractive antique Tekke rug which dates from around 1900 and has a rare and desirable colour palette. It has quite a deep ivory field, tending toward a warm sandy hue and two columns of ‘Salor’ guls enclosed by hooked motifs and diamond guls flanked by lady finger guard stripes. The guls are in subtle shades of pale pink and mauve through to soft coral; the rug features a very nice mid blue throughout which gives it all a very heather like hue. This has a lovely antique appearance with some overall wear and depletions to the fringes as per its age. The rug measures 190 cms by 145 cms.
