Description

Size: 5ft 8in x 4ft 2in (172 x 126cm).

Antique South Persian Afshar rug with classic vase design and animals to the field.

Circa 1900

A superb Afshar rug with wonderful colour and traditional Afshar vase design. Note the small animals either side of the central medallion. The rug is very well drawn with a superb border.

Excellent condition with very slight wear, good pile. The colours are excellent and the wool is very soft. Both ends retain an original short kilim. There is one old and very well done repair to the field that is very hard to detect.

Hand washed and ready for use or display. The rug is suitable for normal domestic use.
