Description

This a wonderful finely woven antique Tabriz carpet with a most charming and very intricate tree of life design. There are five beautifully branching trees to the carpet as well as smaller formal trees and lots of other detail including exotic birds and interesting little temple like buldings with minarets. The carpet dates from the late 19th century and has a nice deep indigo ground colour with warm ivory and rich red. The deep floral borders include soft gold and mid blue. This is fairly unusual in size, tending towards square. The measurements are 348 cms by 273cms, making it ideal for most average sized rooms. The carpet is in excellent condition for its age with only slight wear to one or two areas.
