Description

Size: 9ft 5in x 7ft 11in (287 x 242cm).

Old Anatolian Sharkoy kilim, Western Turkey; of traditional banded design. Clear and bold colours, a large size kilim.

Circa 1920

Sharkoy kilims are also known as Sarkoy or Thracian, they originate from Western Turkey or the region known as European Turkey or The Balkans.

The weave is very tight and fine, the design is typical of the region, note the beautiful ivory coloured border.

Excellent banded design with clear bold colours to the field, the ivory main border helps give the kilim a softer look.

Very good condition with slight wear. Suitable for normal domestic use.

Hand washed and ready for use.
