Description

Size: 7ft 7in x 5ft 2in (232 x 157cm).

Old Anatolian Sharkoy kilim, Western Turkey; of traditional banded design. Overall soft colour palette with pinks and ivory.

Circa 1920

Sharkoy kilims are also known as Sarkoy or Thracian, they originate from Western Turkey or the region known as European Turkey or The Balkans.

The weave is very tight and fine, the design is typical of the region, note the beautiful ivory coloured border.

Excellent banded design with clear soft colours to the field, the soft pinks and ivory give this kilim a very warm feel.

Very good condition with slight wear. Suitable for normal domestic use.

Hand washed and ready for use.
