Description

Size: 10ft 0in x 8ft 2in (305 x 250cm).

Antique Anatolian Sharkoy kilim, Western Turkey of rare design on a powder blue ground.

Circa 1900.

Sharkoy kilims are also known as Sarkoy or Thracian, they originate from Western Turkey or the region known as European Turkey or The Balkans.

The weave is very tight and fine, the design is typical of the region, note the beautiful ivory coloured border.

A kilim with one of the more unusual designs, it is very rare to find this soft powder blue ground. The border design is also most unusual.

Very good condition with slight wear. Suitable for normal domestic use.

Hand washed and ready for use.
