Description

Size: 7ft 11in x 6ft 2in (248 x 153cm).

Old Anatolian Sharkoy kilim, Western Turkey, of very unusual design on a soft red ground.

Circa 1920

Sharkoy kilims are also known as Sarkoy or Thracian, they originate from Western Turkey or the region known as European Turkey or The Balkans.

The weave is very tight and fine, the design is typical of the region, note the beautiful ivory coloured border.

Outstanding and scarce design on a soft red field, note the very well drawn ivory border and the charming small birds.

Very good condition with slight wear. Suitable for normal domestic use.

Hand washed and ready for use.
