Description

This is a beautiful thick heavy woollen double Jaf Kurd saddle bag which dates from the late 19th century. All handwoven, it would have been used to transport goods by the nomadic tribespeople as they travelled with the seasons. It has warm muted colours and large colourful tassels as well as all of its woven tying loops in excellent order. The bag has a most attractive striped kelim woven back piece and is in really most remarkable condition. It would be great stuffed to make a large cushion but also looks fantastic over a sofa or chair.

The heavy bag is substantial in size measuring 152 cms by 100 cms
