Size: 7ft 6in x 5ft 7in (229 x 169cm).

A good North West Persian village rug from the Greater Hamadan Region with a Sarouk style design.

Circa 1920.

This is an interesting rug with a typical large scale floral design found most commonly on Sarouk carpets. The rug also has a Sarouk colour palette with rich red, yellows and beautiful blues.

The border has a well-drawn floral design in deep indigo which contrasts well with the red field colour. The rug is of a unusual almost square shape.

The rug is in excellent condition with very slight wear and good pile. The rug is suitable for normal domestic use. A very attractive furnishing rug.

The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
