Antique tribal saddle bag with plain weave back by the Khamseh Tribe.

Circa 1900.

The saddle bag is of a classic Khamseh design with a large central medallion, the field is filled with many tribal elements including birds and animals. The wool is very soft and glossy.

The saddle bag is in excellent condition with very slight even wear and full pile. Note the original decorative closing panel at the top of the bag face. The bag still has its original plain weave back. The bag has been opened for display. The lower corners of the bag show signs of use and have a few small old repairs, the side bindings are original and show some wear.

The bag face has been hand washed and is ready for display.
