Antique Baluch saddle bag face with 'star in octagon' design.

Circa 1880.

The saddle bag is of well known 'star and octagon' design. The field is filled with many tribal design elements. There is purple and yellow silk used in the centers of each star, and also to outline the central medallion and to highlight the design within it. The bag face has superb soft glossy wool and a very floppy handle. The bag face retains the original end finishes with very fine detailed weft work decoration.

The saddle bag face is in excellent condition with very slight even wear and full pile. There is some slight corrosion to the browns.

The bag face has been hand washed and is ready for display.
