A wonderful pen and ink by Thomas Rowlanson, with a horseman stopping at a cottage. The drawing is an original and in excellent condition. Rowlandson often visited a Cornwall and this is probably a sketch from such journeys. The drawing has been done with both steel nib and quill with delicate washes.

Rowlandson was Royal Academy trained and a renowned social commentator. Much of his work depicting domestic or social scenes. He was also an excellent marine and landscape artist too.
