Description

Size: 10ft 2in x 9ft 2in (310 x 280cm).

Antique Irish Donegal carpet in a traditional Turkish Oushak design.

Circa 1900.

The carpet has good wide borders which frame the field well. The carpet is in the classic 'Turkey' red with the design in bright indigo blue. These carpets were traditionally used to furnish wealthy late Victorian and Edwardian houses.

The carpet is in good condition with slight wear and good pile, there is slightly heavier wear in a small border area at one end.

The carpet has been hand washed and ready for use or display.

The carpet is suitable for normal domestic floor use.
