The mirror is supported either side by exquisitely carved floral supports. The mirror angle can be adjusted to suit your requirements and there is a rear bar to stop the mirror tipping forward. Below the mirror there is a central large drawer, ideal for storing makeup or jewellery. A bank of three drawers, all featuring their original knobs, flanks the central compartment. All drawers are working and close flush to the frame and boast the original knobs. Further below, is a lovely shaped dressing table base; constructed with a stepped design, finished with a fine moulding. The base features a central cushion fronted drawer, again incorporating the original drawer knobs. The dressing table stands on sturdy pronounced cabriole front legs that terminated on finely carved scroll toes. Vertical supports secure the rear of the dressing table. Underneath, the dressing table there is a shaped footboard. All in all, this is a stunning dressing table with a superb colour and patination. The dressing table dismantles into two sections for easy transportation.
Condition Report:
This dressing table is in good condition having been polished in our workshops. There are nominal old use marks to the corners and leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The dressing table features the original drawer knobs. There are no stains, cup marks or burns to the top of the surface of the table. All the hand dovetailed drawers close flush to the frame. The dressing table benefits from a lovely colour and a wonderful grain configuration to the front and sides. This item is well made, solid in joint and ready to use.
