Antique Persian rug with all over boteh design, either Afshar or Kurdish..

Circa 1900..

A good heavy weight rug of large size, the border design and the stripped kilim ends lead me to Afshar attribution but the rug does have a Kurdish feel to it. The rug has an all over boteh design on a dark indigo blue field.

The rug is in excellent condition with slight even wear and good pile. The rug is very thick and heavy with long glossy pile.

The rug is suitable for heavy domestic use.

The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
