Antique Ersari Turkmen main carpet from Southern Turkmenistan or Northern Afghanistan.
Circa 1870.
This fine carpet has 2 rows of 6 large guls with very large diamond shaped minor gul. The main guls are of a superb large size and very round in shape.
The colours in this carpet are truly outstanding and the images do not do them justice.
The carpet retains its original long kilim ends and the original over bound side finishes.
The carpet is of a small square size, indicating an early date and tribal origin. An outstanding early tribal carpet.
The carpet is in excellent condition with even wear and medium/low pile.
The carpet is suitable for light domestic use.
The carpet has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
