A Charming Japanese Miyao Eisuke Parcel Gilt Bronze Bijin

As part of our oriental collection we are delighted to offer this high quality Japanese parcel gilded bronze figure by one of the leading artists of the Meiji period Miyao Eisuke , this delightful multi patinated bronze figure depicts a beautiful bijin wearing a decorative kimono her hair tied meticulously and decorated with a finely detailed comb , she holds a kitten under her arm and clasps a plate to the side , it appears she was just about to prepare the kittens meal when the adult cat appears with a mouse in his mouth and startles the poor girl , the figure stands on its original gold lacquer decorated base and is signed to the rear in a gilt tablet , a wonderful and unusual bronze okimono by this most coveted of makers.
The condition is great with minimal age related wear !!
The wooden base has a minor old foot repair.
