Outstanding Old Afghan Village Carpet of Good Size, Traditional Design, Superb Condition, Circa 1920.

Description

Size: 10ft 6in x 8ft 8in (320 x 264cm).

A very good example of a large size traditional Afghan village carpet by Ersari Turkmen weavers.

Circa 1920.

The carpet has three rows of seven large guls, the carpet has a very good clear red colour, the border design is very detailed and compliments the simple field design well. The border is quite unusual for this type of carpet.

The carpet is in excellent condition with very slight even wear and good pile.

The carpet is suitable for heavy domestic use.

The carpet has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
