Superb Old Afghan Village Carpet of Large Size, Traditional Design, Circa 1920.

1900 - 1920
Description

Size: 12ft 8in x 8ft 10in (386 x 270cm).

A very good example of a large size traditional Afghan village carpet by Ersari Turkmen weavers.

Circa 1920.

The carpet has three rows of six large guls, the carpet has a very warm soft red colour, the border design is very detailed and compliments the simple field design well.

The carpet is in excellent condition with slight even wear and good pile. There are a few old repairs that can only be seen from the back.

The carpet is suitable for heavy domestic use.

The carpet has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
