Old South Persian Bakhtiari Garden Design Rug, Nice Old Colours, Circa 1920.

Description

Size: 6ft 8in x 4ft 5in (203 x 134cm).

A good old example of the very popular Persian Bakhtiari 'garden design'. Each of the large boxes contains a stylized tree or shrub, the willow trees can be clearly seen.

Circa 1920.

The rug has very nice old colours that give it a warmth and lived with feeling.

The rug is in excellent condition with even wear and medium low pile. There are a few old but well made repairs.

The rug is suitable for normal domestic use.

The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
