As part of our oriental collection we are delighted to offer this fantastic quality Japanese bronze figure of a wheelwright signed by the leading artist ''MIYAO EISUKE'', the bronze okimono stands on its original nicely decorated hardwood stand, the figure itself is finely cast using multi bronze patination to pick out the features which are further highlighted with gilt detail , the figure wields a large hammer above his head ready to strike the cart wheel he is making or repairing , a fascinating study of everyday life in the 19th century and still being carried out today.
The condition is lovely throughout !
