Charming Japanese Bronze Monkey Okimono "Genryusai Seiya" Meiji

As part of our oriental collection we are delighted to offer this wonderful quality Japanese bronze okimono by the leading Meiji period animalier Genryusai Seiya, the primate sits upon a tree stump in a most relaxed pose , his left leg is crossed over his right as he preens himself without a care in the world , a most charming and skillful study of an everyday scene , the artist has captured the monkey fine detail with features including fingernails and wrinkles to his hands and feet , a nicely patinated face and a well defined coat , signed to the underside in a cast "Seiya Saku" seal he is an absolute delight !!

The condition is gorgeous.
