Antique Large Heriz Carpet, Persian Azerbaijan

1900 - 1920
Description

This is a stunning antique Heriz carpet of a substantial size dating from around 1900. The striking design has a rich terracotta field of scrolling vines around an indigo pole medallion framed by ivory spandrels and indigo borders of serrated leaves and rosettes flanked by lemon guard stripes. It is a good room size measuring 351 cms by 263 cms. This impressive rug is in very good condition and it's colours are good with no fading.

Rams Head Antiques is a family business based in Wolsingham in Weardale where we have had shop premises for 28 years. The shop is generally open every Saturday from 11 am till 3 pm.
