Antique Ersari Turkmen Main Carpet, Outstanding Colour & Condition, Late 19th Century

Description

Size: 11ft 2in x 9ft 6in (340 x 290cm).

Antique Ersari Turkmen main carpet from Southern Turkmenistan or Northern Afghanistan.

Late 19th century.

This fine carpet has 3 rows of 6 large guls with a diamond shaped minor gul.

The colours in this carpet are truly outstanding and the images do not do them justice.

The carpet retains its original long kilim ends and the wide over bound side finishes.

The carpet is of a larger size than is normally found.

The carpet is in excellent condition with very slight wear and good pile.

The carpet is suitable for normal domestic use such as a dining room or a living room.

The carpet has been hand washed and is ready for use.
