This is a superb quality English flame mahogany 4ft serpentine Victorian Duchesse dressing table, circa 1860. The two front mahogany upright supports are profusely carved with a floral design. The mahogany mirror can be angled to suit your requirements. The dressing table features four working bow front drawers with a smooth sliding action and the original turned mahogany knobs to the top section. The serpentine shaped and curved frieze features a floral carved centre section. Flanking this are two bow front drawers either side. All drawers are constructed with mahogany and are hand dovetailed with the original knobs. The dressing table sits on four stunning fluted ball legs, which connect to a shaped footboard. All in all, this a stunning dressing table with a superb colour and patination.
Condition Report:
This item is in excellent condition and is completely original. It is constructed of solid mahogany. The drawers are mahogany lined and hand dovetailed with the original knobs. Free of worm-worm, solid in joint and ready to use. There are no splits to the top or sides of the dressing table. The interior drawers are clean, dry and are practical and useable. There is some foxing to the original glass mirror. We can have the mirror replaced with a new piece of glass if requested. The dressing table is free of woodworm, solid in joint and ready to use.
