We are absolutely delighted to add this superb pair of samurai warriors to our oriental collection,the detail is quite superb as you would expect from one of the finest metalworkers of the late Meiji period ,

Akasofu Gyoko lived and worked in Tokyo and was a recorded member of the Tokyo Chukinkai in the latter half of the Meiji period ,his factory producing these types of wares.

We are very fortunate to have acquired an opposing pair of figures ,although if it made commercial sense we would consider splitting them up , they are in completely ready to go condition having been expertly cleaned and bought back to their former glory, the shakudo silver inlaid eyes are menacing , the chased bronze work is equisite , the detailing on the armour is the finest , we could go on and on ! , the Katana and the Naginata are removable for packing and carriage , dont miss this rare opportunity to seriously enhance the reputation of your Japanese collection.

Both signed in a gilt tablet to the rear legs.
