Ferdinand Sinet is the second of the four sons of the painter Louis René Hippolyte Sinet (born in Péronne, Somme, in 1835 - died in Agimont, province of Namur, Belgium, on February 20, 1920), also a painter, and of Marie Louise Caillouet 1834- (daughter of the sculptor-statuary Louis-Denis Caillouette or Caillouët, Paris on May 9, 1790 - Paris on February 8, 1868.

He was a student of his father, Louis Sinet (1835-1920).
He was a drawing teacher, painter, and canine portraitist; around 1895, his studio was located in Paris at 7 rue Châteaudun. Then, in 1913, in Cannes, at 1 rue Leopold Bucquet.

He exhibited his works at the Guyot gallery in Cannes, 80 rue d'Antibes.
In 1912, residing in Cannes, 23 boulevard Carnot, he married Élise Antoinette Baussy 1866-1950.

Born in Bédarieux, in the Hérault region of southern France, in 1837.
Studied in Toulouse, then in Paris under Léon Cogniet, Alexandre Cabanel, and William-Adolphe Bouguereau. Bouguereau’s influence is clear in his smooth finish and idealized figures.
Died in Paris in 1883, aged only 45 or 46.
He made his Salon debut in 1863, exhibited regularly for the rest of his life, and painted portraits, mythological scenes, and allegories, but is remembered chiefly for his romantic subjects.
