CKB Ltd Emporium & Collectables has dated this Indian Brass Elephant Sculpture to the 1930s.
Standing an impressive 41cm tall and weighing approximately 4.

The sculpture features expressive eyes, deeply incised detailing to the trunk, body and legs, and finely modelled folds representing the elephant’s skin.
Traditionally cast in hollow brass, with separately formed and attached elements, the sculpture displays visible casting characteristics and finishing marks consistent with workshop production. The substantial weight and impressive proportions give this piece considerable decorative presence.

The brass retains an attractive golden finish, with areas of darker oxidation, surface wear and patination within the recessed detailing.
Elephants with raised trunks are traditionally associated with good fortune, prosperity and protection, making this an appealing decorative piece for a hallway, study, drawing room or collection of vintage animal sculptures.

Condition: Good vintage decorative condition, with age-related surface scratches, marks, tarnishing and casting irregularities. Linear openings and casting marks are visible across the undersides of the feet, as illustrated in the photographs. These may relate to the original manufacture, although casting cracks cannot be excluded. The sculpture displays well.
