Antique silver chronograph pocket watch, 1919.

The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working nicely, possibly by Minerva. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which has an indentation and some scratching.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside both of the case backs for London 1919 with an importer’s mark for

Charles William Guignard who traded as Guignard & Golay gold and silver watch case importer. The front and sides of the case are in good condition. The hinged case back has two indentations towards the edge.

The glass lens has a chip at the bottom but otherwise is in good condition.

The dial has pin-set original hands, two subsidiary dials (one for constant seconds and the other to record up to 30 minutes). The chronograph feature is started, stopped and re-set by way of the button on the winding crown. There is some damage around number 8.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
