English School Portrait of a Gentleman in Gold Plated Oval Frame C.1800

Description

A very well executed portrait miniature of a gentleman in a gold plated oval frame with glazed reverse revealing a beaded initial 'C' over blue and opalescent glass backs with curled hair and beaded borders - set on ivory.

It was converted at some point into a brooch and there are some gilt pieces of that still on the back. The reverse is lovely work of curled hair and beaded decoration with the letter 'C' in the centre. It measures 7cm x 6cm and is in good condition. Ivory Reg. U7E4581K
