Fine 18th century engraving of Full-length portrait of King George III standing in full ceremonial robes of state, holding a sword, with the Garter chain and badge around his shoulders and the Order of the Garter band below his left knee.

King George III (reigned 1760–1820) and this work reflects authority, majesty, and statehood during a critical period of British constitutional history.

John Jones (c. 1745–1797), was one of London’s foremost engravers of the Georgian era. He was celebrated for his ability to translate oil paintings into the finest print editions and his work proved critical to disseminating royal and public portraiture to wide audiences.

Published in January 1779 by Thomas Watson and Walter Shropshire.
