The terracotta colours in this Ersari Turkmen carpet are just stunning. The field contains three vertical rows of seven Ersari 'guls' or tribal crests, spacious and beautifully drawn.

Made by Ersari Turkmen in the region of the middle Amu Darya around 1880, the carpet is in very good overall condition with very minor areas of wear and would complement any room.

This antique Turkmen carpet originates from the Ersary tribes of the middle Amu Darya region in Central Asia, dating to around 1870. The piece is rendered in a terracotta ground colour with deep blue and soft red motifs, displaying three vertical rows of seven Ersari tribal crests, known as guls, interspersed with smaller geometric diamond medallions. A wide patterned border frames the field, while fringing finishes both ends of the textile. The floor covering measures 330 cm high and 250 cm wide, providing a substantial scale suited to large living spaces or reception rooms. It demonstrates very good overall condition with very minor areas of wear visible across the pile, preserving its intricate traditional design for everyday residential use.
