Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian demi-lune furniture is characterised by a semi-circular footprint designed to fit flat against a wall. Produced between 1901 and 1910, these pieces often draw inspiration from Neoclassical and Sheraton styles, utilising light proportions, floral marquetry, satinwood stringing, and decorative wood veneers.

Edwardian cabinetmakers predominantly used mahogany, satinwood, and rosewood, often employing secondary woods like pine or oak for interior drawer linings and backboards. Decorative surfaces were achieved through book-matched veneers, crossbanding, and delicate line inlay techniques.

Authentic Edwardian cabinets show signs of hand-finished joinery combined with early machine production, such as precise dovetail joints and original brass brassware. Inspecting the back boards for natural shrinkage, observing hand-cut inlay channels, and verifying original lock mechanisms help confirm age.

A demi-lune cabinet functions as a focal piece in hallways, foyers, or dining rooms due to its curved, space-saving profile. Pairing the piece with contemporary lighting or abstract artwork creates a visual balance between traditional woodwork and modern decor.

Maintain timber moisture and surface finish by dusting regularly with a soft dry cloth and applying a pure beeswax polish once or twice a year along the grain. Position the cabinet away from direct sunlight, radiators, and damp walls to prevent veneer lifting and timber warping.
