Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

French Rococo pastoral paintings depict idealised rural scenes featuring lighthearted figures within idyllic natural landscapes. Popularised by artists such as Francois Boucher, the genre emphasises soft pastel palettes, asymmetrical compositions, and romantic themes of rustic leisure.

Traditional oil paintings of this period were executed using hand-ground mineral and organic pigments bound in drying oils, applied onto primed linen canvas. Surrounding frames were typically crafted from timber substrate decorated with carved gesso mouldings and finished with gold leaf gilding.

Authentic paintings from the period display age-appropriate craquelure across the paint layer due to the drying process over time. The reverse usually reveals hand-cut timber stretcher bars, oxidised copper or iron tacks, and naturally darkened linen canvas fibres.

An ornate gilded Rococo painting serves as a prominent focal point when hung above a contemporary fireplace or clean-lined console table. Combining intricate gold moulding with plain, neutral walls creates a balanced visual contrast between classical art and modern architecture.

Dust the surface gently using a soft, dry natural-bristle brush, avoiding cloths that could catch on raised paint flaking or fragile gilding. Maintain a stable ambient temperature and keep the canvas away from direct heat sources and high humidity.
