These works utilise fine-line ink for structural definition and hatching, combined with gouache highlights to create tonal depth and contrast on toned paper.

Artists typically employed iron gall or carbon ink, opaque gouache or watercolour highlights, and tinted or laid paper stocks to enhance luminous qualities.

Authentic drawings exhibit surface texture from ink deposition, paper fibre variation, hand-applied brushwork in the gouache, and lack the dot-matrix or offset printing patterns associated with mechanical reproductions.

Pair the piece with simple, clean-lined frames and place it against dark or neutral walls to create a sophisticated focal point that bridges traditional and contemporary aesthetics.

Store or display the artwork away from direct sunlight using UV-filtering glass and acid-free mounting materials to prevent paper yellowing and ink fading over time.
