Gents 1930s Nave aviators Hahn Landeron chronograph wrist watch.
The watch has a column wheel mechanical movement, identified as Hahn Landeron, with a stopwatch function that uses a rotating, castle-like wheel to coordinate its operations. Acting as the movement''s mechanical brain, it governs the precise starting, stopping, and resetting of the stopwatch hands. The movement is working nicely.
The watch measures 35.5mm excluding the later period winding crown, pushers and lugs. The case is chromium plated while the case back is stainless steel case back. The case is in good condition with just light marking.
The lens is in lovely condition.
The dial is signed Nave Watch. Compagnia di Orologi Nave (Nave Watch) was founded in 1926 in Rovio, Canton Ticino, by Riccardo Navoni and Candido Bagutti. In 1934, the company moved to Arogno, and in 1941, Charles Jeanneret, head of Lonidas, took control of Nave. In 1950 the company was renamed Sportex SA, Fabrique d''Horlogeri
...e. The company bought in movements for their watches, hence the Hahn Landeron movement.
The dial is in its original finish with a spiral tachymeter to the centre, and two subsidiary dials for constant seconds and to record up to 30 minutes. Blued steel Breguet style hands and numbers.
The watch has a vintage leather strap.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
