Description

A Nice Antique Georgian Stoneware Mustard Pot that has a pleasing rounded form with a rich brown glaze fading to a lighter, sandy base. The body is decorated in relief with a traditional harvest or rustic scene, giving the piece strong Georgian character.

The sterling silver mount and hinged cover is finished with a stepped dome and a neat aperture for holding a mustard spoon. The lid is fitted with an elegant heart-shaped thumb lift that adds a refined, tactile detail. Hallmarked for Sheffield, 1828 and marked 'I.W' for the maker 'John Watson & Son'.
