Description

In Georgian England, coffee houses were known as "penny universities" because the entrance fee of a penny covered not only the cost of a cup of coffee but also gained one access to news, gossip, pamphlets and intellectual discussion. This fine four pint Antique English Georgian Copper Coffee Pot probably started life in such an establishment and is thus a pleasing memento of early 19th Century society. Of cramped seam construction, now exhibiting a little play in its oak side handle and sporting an attractive heart shaped escutcheon, its hinge still in good order, here is an altogether desirable accessory for the period kitchen.
