Signed and dated 'Otto Fischer 1898' (lower right)

Otto Fischer (1870–1947) was a prominent German painter, printmaker, and graphic designer known for his significant contributions to the "golden age" of German poster design and his later atmospheric landscape paintings. Born in Leipzig, he spent much of his career in Dresden, where he eventually became a professor at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts.

Condition: The picture with losses to the background, the mount faded and the frame worn with age, but overall, a very detailed and finely drawn still life, with that desirable and elusive faded grandeur.
