Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

FAQs

Art Deco furniture, emerging in the 1920s and 1930s, is characterised by sleek geometric shapes, streamlined forms, and the use of luxurious materials such as exotic veneers and contrasting metals.

Cabinet makers typically utilised dense hardwoods like walnut, mahogany, and burl veneers, often complemented by contrasting handles made from bone, chrome, or catalin.

Maintain the timber by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources, dusting regularly with a dry cloth, and occasionally applying a quality beeswax to nourish the finish.

Pair the piece with minimalist lighting, neutral walls, and metallic accents to let the sculptural silhouette and rich wood grain serve as a focal point.

Authentic pieces generally feature period construction methods such as hand-cut dovetail joints, substantial timber frames, and characteristic symmetrical grain patterns combined with architectural silhouettes.
