The magnificent piece is mounted within the original and exceptional quality heavy gilt-scrolled and glazed gesso frame, whilst retaining the original 19th-century glass protective panel, and the original gilt wooden presentation plaque that reads in Italian: ''''Lago Di Garda''''.
The plaque also contains the artist''s initials of ''''M.L''''.
It is a truly wonderfully detailed image, with a huge expansive mountain range, historical buildings, and some native Italians who are seemingly going about their daily chores whilst enjoying the marvellous view before them.
