An outstanding example of the craft, possibly one of the best, in outstanding original condition. A finely woven flatweave from North West Persia, circa 1850, demonstrating the Herati or ''fish'' design. In this case the curving blue and red flowers really do resemble leaping fish, even down to the eye like dots in the middle of where the head would be. Marvel at the quality, how fine it is and delicate, yet has somehow survived around 175 years in untouched condition. A masterpiece of weaving to be admired close up. In fact, the closer you get, the more incredible it gets. Enjoy! :)
