Antique 17thc Pottery Salt Glazed Stoneware Westerwald Jug With Flower Decoration. German.

A fine example of a late 17thc stoneware salt glazed Westerwald jug, decorated with attractive cobalt blue flower heads and three blue bands around the collar and one blue band around the base...this very desirable jug would have been traded up the Rhine river, into the Low countries and distributed via Dutch wine merchants to the British Isles and other European countries....in excellent condition...
 
German. C1670-90.
