A Pair of Bronze Putti or Cherubs on Marble Bases, Italian Grand Tour Circa 1860

This small pair of fine grand tour Italian bronze figures is of classical putti or cherubs, naked apart from a belt of vine leaves and grapes around their lower torso. Each with one arm raised and holding a chalice of wine taken from the ewer, which is lying on its side under a raised foot. This fine pair of bronzes is beautifully hand finished with chased detailing and a fine dark brown patina. They are mounted and displayed on turned russet marble plinths, each finished with a flared foot.
