Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Welsh oak dresser is a regional regional storage unit from the 18th century, typically featuring a base with drawers, a lower open potboard, and an upper open rack with shelves designed for displaying tableware.

These pieces were built from locally sourced English or Welsh oak, featuring hand-cut dovetail joints, mortise and tenon joinery, wooden peg fixings, and cast brass hardware such as swan-neck handles.

Authentic pieces display signs of hand-planing on rear panels, uneven hand-cut dovetails, historical wear on drawer runners, original brassware oxidisation, and age-related shrinkage in the timber boards.

An antique dresser can be placed in a modern kitchen or dining area as a focal point, styled with contemporary ceramics, neutral glassware, or monochrome artwork to create a contrast between historic wood and modern decor.

Apply a high-quality beeswax polish once or twice a year using a soft cloth, following the grain of the wood. Keep the furniture away from direct heat sources and high humidity to prevent timber movement and cracking.
